Linux AI Platform Engineer Opening in Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, Poland

We are looking for a Linux AI Platform Engineer to work on projects at the intersection of AI, quantum chemistry, and software engineering within a dynamic, collaborative environment led by prof. dr. hab. Ireneusz Grabowski, prof. Pavlo O. Dral (http://dr-dral.com), and dr. Szymon Śmiga.
Essential requirements
- Strong expertise in Linux systems administration, particularly in operating and maintaining HPC (High-Performance Computing) clusters.
- Good communication with the team members, platform users, and customers
- Proven ability to monitor, diagnose, and maintain HPC hardware to ensure maximum performance and uptime.
- Experience in deploying scientific software for large-scale simulations.
Bonus requirements
- Familiarity with frontend and backend web development.
- Familiarity with SLURM, quantum chemistry, ML, and Python.
Salary (gross) is ~18 200 PLN (~4270 EURO) per month, commensurate with the applicant’s qualifications and experience. Suitable candidates are expected to stay in the group for 2–3 years; however, initial appointment is based on a 1-year contract, renewable subject to performance and mutual agreement.
Earliest start September 2025.
