Two Postdoc Openings at Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, Poland

We are looking for two excellent postdocs for projects on the intersection of AI, quantum chemistry, and software engineering in the dynamic, collaborative environment led by prof. dr. hab. Ireneusz Grabowski, prof. Pavlo O. Dral (http://dr-dral.com), and dr. Szymon Śmiga.
Requirements:
- PhD in chemistry, physics, computer science, AI, or a related discipline.
- Proven expertise in at least several of the following skills: 1) quantum chemistry method development, molecular and materials simulations, 2) AI and ML, preferably familiarity with AI agents, 3) programming (Python, Fortran, C/C++).
- Strong motivation, creativity, independence, and resilience.
- Teamwork and communication skills.
- Excellent spoken and written English.
Salary (gross) is ~12 170 PLN (~2850 EURO) per month commensurate with the applicant’s qualifications and experience. Suitable candidates are expected to stay in the group for 2–3 years, however, initial appointment is based on a 1-year contract, renewable subject to performance and mutual agreement.
Earliest start is September 2025.

The living cost in Toruń is rather low, compared to other university towns, providing a better life for post-doctoral researchers.
